Snowy cottage screensaver freeze3/10/2024 ![]() ![]() I'm using the latest version of flashplayer. I've used both of these as far back as Windows XP Pro and they always worked. I get a message about settings.data error? They will play and change each time but they still crash. Before this I could change the settings but they would crash a minute later. I reinstalled both of these screensavers. I just did a clean install of Windows 7 because I got a new SSD for Christmas. Maybe also run "Test my system for optimal settings" again.įailing that, I'm not sure what the problem could be, but I'll look into it. You could also try toggling the music, sound effects, snow or the decorations, to see if that makes a difference. It's possible that it crashes when it tries to rotate the background. For example, in the Scenes tab of the settings panel, you can choose to use one specific background instead of having the screensaver rotate between them. ![]() The only thing I can think of right now is that you could play around with the screensaver's settings, to see if there's anything that might prevent it from crashing. The 3D Snowy Cottage screensaver is from the same author as My 3D Christmas Tree, so they work similarly and it makes sense that both crash in the same manner. Unfortunately, I can't replicate this on Windows 10, but someone else reported the same issue yesterday and they were also on Windows 7. Love this one but it crashes to desktop in around two minutes. ![]()
